Dear all,
Yes its me again with my 51 MGZT-T 190, recently purchased.
The problem that i have is.................
The Sat Nav is draining power from the battery when the car is not in use, resulting in a flat battery (Overnight).
The gps works very well.
Any Ideas what I can do?.

Are you sure its the sat nav.

Could be the battery is on its way out or the boot courtesy switch not switching off (boot light staying on)

Sat Nav draining battery

a friend who is an auto electrics guy traced the drain from the sat nav. When I bought the car just three weeks ago purchased a new battery.
its worrying and I guess expensive

The Sat nav system is controlled by the Ibus when the car is locked and left unattended the system will (or should) shutdown and go to sleep after 15 minutes

If this is not happening then don't assume it is Nav related the BCU could have a fault or you could have something simple playing up like a door switch causing the nav system to keep booted or keep rebooting.

The cars electrics are also designed to shut down non key system such as the Nav system if the battery drops below a certain voltage.

You probably need a specialist to 100% track down this type of problem

If investigating the problem remember to allow the nav comp to shut down properly before pulling fuses and disconnecting the battery etc, I have posted a how to which a search here will find
