Picking up on a previous subject i bought up a couple of weeks ago regarding the lack of a dedicated Rover magazine in the newsagents,i noticed today Performance Vauxhall on the shelf next to the BMW,Ford, Jaguar,Land Rover,MG Enthusiast and MG World(which are dedicated solely to the MG-A,B,C,pre war models, despite what they say on the cover!).Come on,lets have a dedicated Rover-MG mag that only caters for,say 1982 onwards models. It's about time something was written about the later cars,i think enoughs been said about the oldies!. >=( =P

MG World actually does carry a fair bit about the new cars, but any MG mag will have more content about the older cars because there are simply more of them!

If you have this month's MG World, have a look towards the end of the mag, the "Running Reports" section, a certain MGF driver is on there :D

I know that the MG Magazines do sometimes cater for the Z's but never Metro's Maestro,s Montego's ,i have'nt seen an article on these cars for at least a year.Anyway, what about Rovers?,where is the magazine for Rover owners?.I know the Rover owners club does one but that is very infrequent and the news in it is usually months behind, though i know the editor Ian Darby puts a lot of hard work into it and us members always look forward to it arriving,at least it covers our favourite subject,ROVER!.:D :)

A paper-based magazine is very time-consuming and expensive to produce. What Steve has here is an excellent basis for a magazine but in electronic form. MG(and Rover) meetings can be publicised, technical tips can be exchanged in the forum where questions can also be posted. The picture galleries are filling up with great images. The list goes on and on. But, I see your point, there is NOTHING out there (magazine based) for modern day Rover and MG products, whereas there are countless publications for B*W & F**d owners.Perhaps within a year or two when things have stabilised (and MG-R are in profit:D) somebody might see the gap in the market and produce a suitable magazine.
In the meantime, I think we sould make as much as possible of Steve's site.Just waiting for that extra Rover content!!

Hi

Must admit that I've more or less given up on buying magazines (and stopped buying newspapers completely), now that so much is available on the web.

As soon as any magazine is published, much of the information contained within it is out of date. The beauty of the web is that it can be updated 24/7. And of course, you don't need to be a journalist to contribute!

Internet!

Hi John - I have also given up buying magazines and also CD's since I joined the 'Internet Revolution'. Music is freely available on the net if you know where to look.Magazine wise - the first place I would look in my magazines was the problem and letter page. All this can now be found in the general forums on the ZD-net community (for Computers) and car problems can be found at www.honestjohn.co.uk (Daily Telegraph Motoring writer - great bloke BTW). Both sites have a wealth of information available - all you have to do is ask or search around using a few carefully selected keywords.
