Rover K series 1800 engine , it currently lives in my working London black TX1 taxi . My TX1 taxi finishes service on the 3rd of February 2020. My TX1 taxi has done 479'000 miles, this the 4th K series engine that has been in my TX1 taxi. This engine has been in my TX1 taxi since 15/09/15. The engine has done 70'000 miles, it comes with aluminium inlet manifold, a 52mm throttle body , unlocked engine management ECU. My TX1 taxi runs on duel fuel , which is petrol and a BRC LPG system .Would be buyers have the chance to drive the TX1 taxi away and do what they want with it. Ideal donor parts for MGB GT or Midget upgrade. Cambelt/tensioner and waterpump has been changed , engine has been run with comma 5/50w engine oil.
Engine was rebuilt by Rob Morley of Protune. A spare dismantled engine will be included in the sale. Offers invited.

CYLINDER HEAD:

Fully strip cylinder head, Decoke ports and valves,

Cut seats, lap in valves and Vacuum test.

Modify water ways

Min skim head to true.

All guides ok.

Clean, prep and de bur

Build Head.



BLOCK:

Fully Strip and inspect

Machine cylinder liner seats

Reface block deck and machine to set liners to correct height.

Strip oil pump, debur, clean and rebuild with new seal.

Check, measure and clean pistons and con rods, check rod bolt fit and modify No 4 rod to suit.

Check and measure big end journals.

Measure and check crankshaft for size and roundness.

Clean block, ladder and crankshaft, rebuild



Fully assemble and build engine as required with parts below:



ALL GENUINE ROVER PARTS USED:



Head bolts

Crankshaft Main bearings

Big end bearings

Cylinder Liners

Piston Rings

Water Pump

Cambelt

New Manual Tensioner

Top End Gasket and Seal Set

Multi Shim Head Gasket

Bottom End Gasket and Seal Set

Uprated Rover Oil Rail Ladder

Genuine Rover Engine Sealant

New Rover Tensioner Bolt (Cut down)



This engine needs to be run in. Please do not use a synthetic or a semi synthetic engine oil.

Use only a mineral oil of 10/40 or 10/50 to run it in on.

Flywheel bolts need to be locktited and torqued to 65 ft lbs.

Cambelt tension to be checked after initial warm up before use.

Change engine oil and filter after 500 miles and again after 1000 miles.
