NEED HELP.CAR IS SMOKING BADLY,HEATER NOT WORKING. OVER HEATING USING GALLONS OF WATER .WE HAVE PUT IN 2 ENGINES IN LAST 6 WEEKS.I BELIEVE THIS 1 IS FROM A FREELANDER.WE HAVE REPLACED TURBO.MAF.THERMASTAT.SUICIDAL NOW RUNNING OUT OF MONEY.HAD RADIATER FLUSHED GARAGE SAY IT COULD BE CONDENSER ANY HELP PLEASE.radiater pipes hot at top cold at bottom.fan works.

Hi Lynmac

so 2 engines and pipes through the radiator is clear. I can see why you are pulling your hair out AND SHOUTING.

Could there be a blockage within the heating matrix?

Have you had it linked up to a T4 machine or other Diagnosis Machine? If so, any fault codes shown?

have had checks for head gasket and radiator checked told radiater condenser needs replacing otherwise ok

Silly question but are you sure it's a diesel? The Freelander uses a different diesel engine to the 75. If it's the K-Series petrol then they're shared between the two (although with minor differences)

Doesn't white smoke on a diesel indicate turbo failure?

definatly diesel. had to change wiring harness on freelander engine.put new turbo in.cant find any leaks but losing the water somewhere.

the 2ltr freelander diesel engine ,bmw 320 diesel and the rover 75 diesel are all the same engine.the bmw 2ltr tdi engines. apart from the wiring harness being short. thought men would know this :iwstupid: :daft: lol

The 75 and Freelander engines are based on the BMW unit but are not all the same!

I don't know the full differences but one example is that the 75 doesn't have the BMW 320D's variable-geometry turbocharger.
