Hi mates just wondering about rover 75 1.8 petrol k engines how long do this engines last any idea mine has 195000 on it had it for the last year no problems at all accept I keep losing 1lt of engine water for every 200klm should I do a coolant flash?

Loosing coolant isn’t a sign of the engines demise, it just means it’s leaking out somewhere. Park on some cardboard, look around and see if you can see where. Could be pipes or radiator, look for pink stains from the coolant. It could be inlet manifold gasket, water pump or head gasket. Look with cold engine as well as hot. There’s a how to on finding coolant leaks ill see if I can find it...

But is ok to keep using the car I mean it won cause any damage am now adding only water to the engine instead of coolant,

Thanks mate here the lows is round 5% I we’ll try do it today my self as the mechanics here are not familiar with this tape of car can I blood the whole thing and filling it up with coolant after I find the leak thanks
