I have a Rover 45 1.8 CVT auto 'X' reg from 2000, and since I bought it 4 weeks ago I've found 2 problems.

It frequently doesn't start in the mornings, sometimes cutting out after starting and sometimes not starting 'til the fourth or fifth attempt. For the rest of the day it's fine.

Then, at low speeds especially when cold, it judders and kangaroos. I've seen this problem reported elsewhere on the forum, but with no clear answers, and not coupled with the starting problem.

Has anyone else had this problem, or does anyone knw what's causing it?

Cheers.

One suspect is the coolant temperature sensor, not to be confused with separate sensor for the temperature gauge. Many threads on here which discuss this.
