Hi guys, I have 2000 reg 45 at 19000 miles.
About twice a week it will lock itself,
If you open any door
or close any door
either immediately or maybe after a few minutes.
Less often, with the car having been unlocked for sometime, the alarm will
blow when the passenger door is opened.
Bit complicated I'm afraid but this is my first time!

Somehting is telling the controller to "lock"
Consider:

Dodgy door switches they sometimes become a little intermittent.

Could be key switches in drivers door

Fatigued and frayed wires where they pass from door to pillar

Switch in drivers/passengers door latch

Poor crimp connection in connector from latch motor to door harness

Rover 45 central locking

Thanks for your suggestions. I spent yesterday taking apart the pillar switches but they were all clean and new looking.
Then I changed the micro switch in the drivers door lock barrel.
I opened up the wiring shields by the door hinges and that all looked good.
Then it central locked itself!!
This was in it's dry garage where it spends most of its time
Whats it like getting the drivers side latch and actuator out? Rave says it means taking the glass motor and channel right out, but Haynes (for 400) says
just unbolt the end of the channel.
