Hey,

Buyin a Rover 400 of a mechanic contact. The car had the expected HG failure @ 70k. He's putting a new water pump, new timing belt, new HG(the landrover one plus new bolts). I know these new HG are out a couple of years but whats the verdict. I've seen a few updates about them just any other updates.....................basically how many miles can I expect if i look after the coolant/oil levels really need this car to last the pace for me.

As Ashy says, and I have said before that these new landrover head gaskets are much much better than the tat with the orange beeding - and I cant see how the head gasket can fail its a completely different matrerial and construction.

Keep an eye on coolant and oil levels though - as with any car if it runs low on coolant and overheats then its not a good thing.
