Hi all

I am new to this forum and would like some of ur expertise.

2 Weeks ago i bought a rover 200 SD Turbo 'R' Reg for £300 at an auction.

Just to be on the safe side my mechanic mate gave it a service changing glow plugs, oil/air/fuel filters, oil change and the coolant in the car.

The problem I am having is that every so often the car stalls in neutral.
When I press the accelarator, there is short bursts of power, sometimes it will cut off or sometimes it will rev up causing smoke(sometimes black/white)

For some reason, the car is choking! It was doing this before the service.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what i can try??

Thanks, any advice is greatly appreciated.

im not sure, the car has been sitting since i bought it.

As far as i know there is only a bit of smoke when i rev upto 4000rpm.
My mate seems to think its just carbon in the system but why does it splutter and cut out?

thanks

lots of smoke means its not getting enough air, but it doesn't sound like your turbo has gone, look a dew threads down and you'll find a topic by ricc about cleaning his inlet manifold out, thats where I'd start
