Hi all, i'm looking for a donor car to convert my rover 200 into a turbo and i have come across a rover 400 turbo, can i use all the parts from this for a conversion or will i need subframes ect from a 200

I belive the 400 is a 1995-1999 model and the 200 being used will also be a 1996.

thanks in advance :)

Nobody? need to know asap so i can go and view this car :p
They never made a 420 turbo in the 95-99 (bubble shape) Is it already a conversion? you sure its not turbo diesel?

Either way you'll still need subframes from a 200.
If it's a 420GSI in R8 form then it's the same as the 220 and the front end can be used however they are very rare.
it's already a conversion itself its a 95-99 shape which used to be a striaght 2 litre but been converted to a 2 litre turbo with a 820 vitesse engine.
so would the subframe be the only thing I would need? everything else compatable?

If it's conversion then it will already have all the correct parts.

Apart from the subframes. to do a turbo conversion on a 420 bubble its already a t-series none turbo so you just use the existing 400 bubble subframes which i beleive are different to the 200/400 wedge and 200 bubble.

Also check its had the sump changed. As the 820 sump is ideally to deep and quite often grounds out on lowered cars or when in a 200.
cheers guys, i bought the car anyway :)
not sure if i will be swapping the stuff into the 200 or selling the 200 and keeping the 420, after driving the 420 it's such a comfortable car with electric everything all round and full leather interior......

Decisions, decisions :(

Sounds like too good a car to break tbh!
well the body work needs a bit of touching up where rust spots are appearing but its only surface rust, it hasnt eaten through, hopefully will get the bodywork sorted with the money i get off the 200 which is now on ebay :(
