I have just bought a set of alloy wheels for the 200 (1999), I know I will need a set of locking wheel nuts which I have seen in the online shop. But, the wheel nuts that I have seen on pics of the alloys are not the same as I currently have fitted to the steels. Is it just some sort of shiny alloy cap the goes over the nut or are there different alloy wheel nuts?

They will have to have special alloy wheel nuts I'd have thought, the tapers will be different I'd think.

yes you will have to buy a set of alloy nuts as they have a much larger taper.

The reason the nuts for alloys are different to steels is, as stated, the taper is different. This is because the steel wheel nuts will tear through the alloy of the wheel in time. My ex-GF bought Williams alloys for her Clio RT years ago, and had a HUGE accident due to wrong wheel nuts. (She lived, unfortunately)
