Ive had a P reg Rover 100 for about 9 months now (bought to get me through my driving test) and there are a couple of faults which have been annoying me which I hoped could be cured. Obviously instead of paying hundreds to a garage I hoped you guys could help.

The most annoying is the fact that the central locking doesnt seem to work at all! When I press the button on my keyfob it makes the right noises but none of the latches go down!

Can this be easily fixed by a car novice like myself or if I know what to do can I enlist the help of my father-in-law?

new motors easy peasy. find a scrapped metro, undo doors and on side of door near bottom there will be either two screws which means it has central locking, or two holes or blanks which mean it doesnt, if it does remove the central locking motor by tearing of door card and undoing the two screwstthen simply replace yours with these. drivers side needs to be replaced with a drivers side one though, the rest are all interchangeable
