Hi All,

I have a Rover 115D N Reg [1996] and i'm having a bit of trouble with it.

Basically to get it started I have to bump or jump start it.

If I try to start it up it just keeps turning over until the battery goes very low and it just makes clicking noises...

Usually bumping/jumping it does the trick, if i've been driving it then stop the engine and immediately start it again after, it starts up again fine, its only after it is left for 24 hours or more...

I have tested the battery and its fine etc... glow plugs look quite new but I cant be sure.

Anyone any suggestions??

Thanks in advance,

Aaron

i'm no expert on these engines, they are pug/citroen engines, but my first port of call would be checking the resistance through the plugs, to see if they need replacing.

very very high resistance would indicate a dead plug i think.

i dont think it is an expensive job if they need replacing anyway.

might get more response in the diesel forum.
