Hi, my 98 414SI has just had a new inlet manifold gasket fitted, whilst in the garage I asked them to change all points, plugs ect that were a little past their best. After the car was returned it was very difficult to start, I even had to use a little throttle to get her to fire. This was never the case before as she always started first time. The engines idle is also a little rough, with a fair bit of vibration coming through the car, odly enough through the rest of the rev range the engine is as smooth as ever. I've been racking my mind what could cause this, maybe an iffy injector?, the garage seems to thinks it's just a weak starter motor although to me it seems as strong as ever. Any help would be gratefully received, cheers, Rob.

Erm..rough idle...starter motor? I don't think so.
You may just need a stepper reset.

Ignition position 2, push and release gas pedal fully 5 times, turn car off then start engine.
It may take a few turns to catch and the revs will hunt for a few secs then it should settle.
