As the MGF has hydragas suspension, it is critical that the ride heights are set correctly as they affect not only the height of the car but also how the car rides.

The correct height for the MGF are:-

All models (except Trophy 160) - Without lowering knuckles
368mm +- 10mm from the centre of the front wheel to the top of the wheel arch.

This measurement is correct at 17 degrees celcius. Adjustment to the height at other temperatures requires a correcting factor of 0.6mm per degree celcius.


Trophy 160 (and all models with lowering knuckles)
348mm +- 10mm from the centre of the front wheel to the top of the wheel arch.

To adjust this you will need to find somewhere that has the equipment to do this. A lot of garages have this equipment as the Metro had the same type of suspension from 1980 right up till the end of production in 1997.
