from what I've read this could be a MAF issue, try disconnecting it for a couple of days and see if that solves the problem, if it does you can either try cleaning the MAF with some electrical contact cleaner or replacing with one of Rons Pierburg+MAFAM.
Oh thats given that yours is a deisel..
