Ok, so my cd player has eaten my favourite cd and won't let go, so I need to remove it and throw it in the bin!

How do you do it?
Do I need any special tools?

Yes, there are sprung clips at the sides which secure the unit in the metal surround. Visit your nearest former MG-R place - bound to have something suitable to remove it for you in no time.

hi
will the halfords pins remove a philips radio from a 214 1998?
cheers
yep, they will remove any Standard fit head unit as long as it has 4 holes in the face 2 on the left 2 on the right on the edges of the plastic!

stick them in there and pull the head unit and it should slide straight out!

no you have to get a harness adaptor depending on which CD Player you have there not cheap though cost about ÂŁ35 think theres one in the for sale section for a sony stereo though?

i just dont use the steering controls. ÂŁ35 is nearly as much as the cd player was!

I had trouble getting my CD80 out as well as the standard ICE removal pins are no good. instead i used half a junior hacksaw blade. The technique to use is to insert it about an inch and then try to lever it a bit. It should then pop right out
