I’m going to remove the head on a very low mileage 1.1 8v Metro due to it starting to push increasing amounts of steam out of the exhaust.
The question is:- Does the cambelt-side engine mounting have to be removed in order to remove the cylinder head?

I’ve not done a metro, but if it’s the same as other k’s the engine mount has to be ’opened’ to insert a new cam belt. If you’re not changing the cam belt, no need to touch it to remove the head, just take the belt off the top pulley(s) and tuck it to one side.
