Hmmmm, There are a few pieces like this in my classic MPI mini. I'm guessing the same would apply there aswell?

 

I'd suppose so. If there are the same kind of connectors why not give it a try

When this came off, i lost 1/4 tank of petrol in seconds....

Quite lucky nothing set alight..... Whether this has something to do with me running de-cat (less surface area for leaks to catch) i'm not sure....
