Do i need to take the rear lights out?

I have followed the haynes and removed:

top 5 plastic bolts
two small screws from the wheel liners (1 either side)
two bolts from the back of the wheel arch (1 either side)
the single bolt underneath....

its now loose but seems like there is some kind of fixiing underneath each light. it doesnt feel like a bolt, more like a rubber grommet.

any help on what i may have missed greatly appreciated.

yep rear lights need to come out theres a bolt behind each light :) but sounds like you hae broke the lugs that the bolt goes threw so will just be the rear lights holding it

you are correct wolle...

There ARE two bolts, 1 each side behind the taillights...

Thankfully i hadnt pulled them hard enought to break the plastic lugs, but the constant wiggling has scratched the bumper on the light units.

Another part i need to touch up.. have some rep for stopping me breaking my bumper.
