Reading all the comments on here it is remove the old one and replace with the new onewill it wire up ok?
Nopefully it will be here in a few days but will defo look at that is the old one easy to removeDo not forget to scratch paint from fixing bolts as they need good ground contact for map lights to work properly...
Are the other 2 bulbs the same as the middle one ? as I can see the bulb in the middle light![]()
Well, you get three lights in front instead of one, and map lights are operated separately from other lights - for driver and pasenger. You can say that benefit of this upgrade is personal preference.
that's why I need the size of them 38mm 39mm 41mm 42mm ?get some leds in em
So its 3 festoon bulbs ?Yes, the other two bulbs are the same as the middle one.
So its 3 festoon bulbs ? Any body know what size ?Yes, the other two bulbs are the same as the middle one.
No I never used a hammer lol I used a digital caliper think I touched the contacts would that blow a fuse ?Did You use the large bulb fitting hammer?
Non.
See top of post.
It'll all be good if connections are clean and as posted earlier by Roverlike, make sure you have a good ground/earth.
tried opening the other doors but still no light so I am now thinking it is the light fitment itself , will wait till the other one comes & try that one as it may work ? then I will know , one other Question whilst im here why when I look at the Fuse box under the bonnet the writing on the outside is in French but English on the inside of the cover ?If you have light glowing on permanent position, then fuse is fine. There are two possibilities:
1. L-shaped switch on your door does not provide good contact. Have you tried if light will illuminate if you open any otjer door?
2. Plastic part in your existing light has snapped and thus not providing contact for switch in middle position. If you remove whole light, you can check if switch provide good contact in both positions - door opening one and permanent one.
