I have solved the problem alot of you were worried about on fiddling about at the radio on the ZR because of the dated styling of the dash since it is located low on the this dash. I work in a car performance and styling store and have bought a remote control that fixes to the rear of the steering wheel and i can control my stereo all opertions including my multi-changer at the touch of a button its great. I am also looking into silver surrounds and facia plates for the kenwood stereos this will finish my dash off nicely. :eyes

Is this an office kenwood accessory ? If so do you mind me asking how much ?
Also, I might be interested in fitting a DAB unit do you have any experience in these ?
Finally have you installed any other ICE like bigger/better speakers and an amp.
I'm interested in other ZR owners who have done this to see what works for them.....
Cheers

I fitted a bass tube and uprated front door speakers together with an amplifier to my 25 GTi and the sound was great. It cost me about £300ish and is totally transferable to other similar cars, just takes a little time to fit it. The original head unit can be retained but for much better sound, it is much better to replace the head unit with something from Alpine/Kenwood etc. Many Alpine models have an interface that retain the functionality of the steering wheel remote controls.

I didn't bother uprating the rear speakers - what I wanted was a balanced sound and upon the advice of our local car hi-fi shop, I uprated the front speakers and added a bass tube to the boot. Yes I lost a bit of bootspace but it could be removed easily if need be.
