Hello

Im sure someone out there must have had this problem so just wondering if they managed to cure it

Some time ago my Rover 414 cut out - loosing lights, engine infact everything

with the key out of the ignition the battery and oil light was on and the temp gauge shoots up to the red (the engine isnt really that hot)

Nothing electrically then works on the car.

The last time this happened I swapped out the red module on the back of the fuse box and this seemed to cure it - However - a few weeks later the same thing has happened again

all thoughts/suggestions are welcome.

Cheers

it seems that rover changed the electrics around MY 1997 - so had to cut the a postive live that comes into the fuse box - it used to power the dim dip resistor - but the new fuse box was using it to power the side lights

all it now working

new earth leads £4 in halfords - - so i fitted two instead of one - should prevent future problems
