The coolant thermostat on my R25 TD seems to have failed open - engine taking much longer to warm up and not reaching normal temperature.

The repair procedures in Haynes and RAVE show a standard thermostat located in the oil cooler, speaking to a parts supplier they said the thermostat they normally sell for the R25 TD is actually a seperate module that connects to the coolant pipe-work although they said the other type is available but quite rare.

Anyone know when Rover changed thermostat design and which type of thermostat you'd expect in a W reg R25 TD.

Found my own answer: nobody seems to sells the metal thermostat on it's own, they only sell the thermostat as part of the plastic module that fits into the oil cooler.
