Hey folks,

I'm wondering if any of you can help me out. My brother has a Toyota MR2 Turbo (Jap import) the speedometer and odometer have all been converted to work in Mph but the odometer still shows how many kilometres the car has done and not miles, so every time it goes for it's MOT they have to work out how many of those were done in kilometres (worked out from the import information) and how many are in miles.

Now I'm not going to ask advice on how to alter the odometer because obviously we can't tell people how to do that (although it's fairly obvious) but I would like to know the legal side of things. We aren't trying to make the car appear to have done any less miles that it has but would it be alright for us to make the clock read the correct mileage of the car to stop all the confusion or should this be done at a garage where they can stamp some sort of paperwork to say it's all correct?

If anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated!
