Hi looking for some help
I’ve got a 2004 mg zr 1.4, I got the car and it had a drilled thermostat to prevent overheating, turned out it was over drilled and was the reason the car never used to get hot. The car used to do about 20-25 mpg like this. I’ve changed the head gasket, fuel filter, thermostat, temperature sensors, remapped ecu, 135 cams, oil and coolant change and I’m still experiencing low 20ish mpg. What do people think is causing this? Is it fuel pump over pressurising ? knackered injectors ? Dodgy regulator on the rail ? Or something else ?
Any suggestions, ideas or tests are greatly appreciated. Just trying to figure it out without just changing everything to a new partly wildly
