Plastic box under battery??

755 Views 6 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  ZR Stevo
On my 214 there seems to be some sort of plastic box under the battery??

Was it something to do with the original airbox?

I can't find any mounting brackets or screws etc.

It's really annoying me as i aint' got a clue about what it is??

Any info appriciated :)

Maybe its the resonator box for the air intake.

On a Mk3 its not far from the battery, kinda below the passenger headlight.

I'm not sure about mk2's tho. Can you not see where it connects to and follow the pipes?
You're correct, it's an air intake resonator (silencer) box.

Best thing is to junk it!

Wahey! I'm learning stuff! How clever am I? I'm a f :***: ing genius! :rvd:

(Sorry, I've had a bad day - just trying to make myself feel better!)

Anyway i took mine off and the onlynoticable differnce is the slight induction kit-y sound. You know the sound you get if you take a short, sharp breath inwards (kind-of).
Gr8 stuff - will take it off asap - have a k&n down there anyways so makes no differance to me ;)

Cheers guys :D

That's it - it just make the engine sound more gruff, often not a bad thing.
On the same note. Why does a zr160 have a warm air intake on the front of the air box?
