Any bit basher has any comments? My next quest is to use the fobs to see if the above hex is bit encryted.

Does this info give the barcode? of each fob

Hey starlight14, Did you manage to program new fobs to your Pektron SCU using this data?

or are you still trying t de-code the data 11 Years later!? :ROFLMAO:

I would love to check the Data stored on my SCU & link 2 new fobs myself if possible!? I only have the EKA atm though; is this possible with just a T300 programmer or similar???

For anyone reading this; Any help would be great!! 😎

Hello @BEARE that post dates from ages and @starlight14 didn't appear since Apr 6, 2012... ;)

Quite apart from the ancient date of the prior posts, it is worth pointing out that the code cannot be read from the fob (technozen tried to find a way for some time before admitting defeat), so only brand new (or very little used) fobs can be fully programmed to a Pektron SCU.

As far as I know, the only proprietry diagnostic equipment that can programme Pektron remotes to the SCU are the Rover 'Testbook' T4; a T300; or pscan.

I am unsure if it is possible to determine the current code for a given remote from the eeprom data, but it is certainly possible to clone the data for a used working fob from the SCU it is programmed to and place it on a different SCU. There are several MG Rover lock specialists who can do this.

Barcode supplied with Pektron fob represents the "window" within which you can program it to the SCU. If code is rolled outside this "window" it is not possible to read where the rolling code is now from SCU since that is a security feature. Thus it is not possible to code used Pektron fobs to SCU.

hmmm Thanks for the replies! I am aware this is an ancient post, It's just the only one talking about the actual code from eeprom which I found interesting & I love reviving old threads! I am in fact an Ancient forum member myself! haha (It's good to be back!) :p

Tbh I cant remember my exact thought process on this but I think I was thinking I need to 'Reset' the SCU in order for it to accept a new fob (As I only h ave the EKA. No working fob to disarm the SCU) :(

Options for doing this seemed to be either:
1 - Re-program the SCU using the mystical machine from Avon Diagnostics. (Probably impossible to get hold of one & not cheap)
2 - Somehow read the eeprom data with a standard diagnostics tool like the T300 & re-write the edited code including the new key fob data..?

I've just spent the whole of today checking fuses, relays & wiring as I thought I had a short somewhere but it turnt out to be the battery despite the voltage looking good etc... oops! 🤦‍♂️

But at least I ended up removing the SCU so I think at this moment in time my likely solution is to send the SCU to Technozen along with a new fob so that he can work his magic...
