Hi Paul, Bought a new Pektron 3 Button fob privately, with barcode, for my 05 R25 but when the mechanic tried to program it he couldn't as the last digit was missing therefore only 21 numbers - is there a way around this problem as the mechanic was concerned that if he keyed in too many times the BCU/SCU may shut down? Any advice would be appreciated

You can use technozen's (Paul) generous offer, remove your unit and send it to him otherwise it would cost you about £35 to get it programmed-buying another SCU is a bit extreme.

You need to give more information- year of car, your location and any symptoms of your problem-what exactly is wrong?

Hi, the best thing to do is to contact technozen (Paul) directly. You can send him a pm on this site or contact him on his eBay account (technozen) You need a T4 diagnostic machine along with the original barcode of the fob in order to program a new fob but Paul will advise you about how you can go about things. Good luck

Cannot read your reply fully, if the fob has previously been programmed to your car then try this:
Sit in driver's seat, make sure your other fob is well away from the car, press open/close a few times. If unsuccessful, disconnect engine battery, reconnect it and try again with fob, this action may 'reboot' the SCU/BCU. Worth a try anyway
