mg-rover.org meet,

just a quick thread just to say thanks to Jimbo for sorting out today's meet a Elvington,
it was nice to give the ZT a ride out, but it was a shame that some more people couldn't turn up,
the weather could of been better, it was a bit windy and cold,
but it was nice to put face's to name's ,
plus it is a good air museum , and not to say the lest the food was ok too,

thanks for today,

Stobby,

Apologies for my absence from dawn sarf

Any meets planned for a get-together for people who reside in the sarfern part of England?
Yes stobby - thanks jimbo for all your efforts :broon:
I thought Stu C was going to be there today with his V8. The one he organised at Cosford was well attended. And last years National got well over 100 cars there. Why not have another one Cosford? And it is in the middle of the country too.

There's one on the 10th october edd. It's been organised for the 200 and 400 owners, but all cars are welcome, i was told today :)
Thanks for the thanks - sorry I arrived late - really pleased most that I spoke had a good day, even allowing for the bloody cold wind - finally apologies to anybody that I didn't manage to chat to.

Cheers to all that attended - really good turn out considering the weather.

All the best

Jim
Glad this went well.

I live about 20 miles away but was unable to make it due to being on the other side of the world right now.

Good luck with any future events.
yes its cold in windswept yorkshire but it was a good meet elvington had some good aircraft and yes the food was good too .i can only assume the rover 200 owners had the wrong date or airfield as our two harrogate r8s and a nice blue bubble zr showed up ;)

I knew an Andrew Porter in Telford a few years back... Surely not the same???

The problem with that is I dont think Cosford will have us back after what went on this year with the Idiot factor ,

Also Edd the plan was originally to have 2 meets a year a spring meet at Cosford or possibly further south if there was a sutible venue and a autumn one somewhere up north - around the Yorkshire area

This would give everyone a chance to get to at least one meet and get to know folks , Its not reasonable to expect DrDave to come up to york or to expect Flyer to come down to Telford , some of us are positioned in the middle and can do both but were the lucky ones

Thanks Jimbo we had a good weekend apart from the hurricane winds - You obviously forgot to book the sunshine this year

Roll on next year
Well I thought the last Cosford meet was a success; the problems being a storm in a teacup. (yes I read all the posts in that thread)

If they (Cosford) thought that a 100 cars might turn up with an average occupancy of 2 they would like the business. We live and learn and the rules laid down before we attend should be suffice to say lets go for it.

Nothing ventured nothing gained.

Edd
Its just being able to enforce the rules and keep things how they should be - the younger element tend to sty away from the north meets , dont know why but the trouble stays away as well
