Hello all.
Failed my Norwegian MOT today:

- Brakepads right hand side rear.
- (dont' know what the two next things are called in English)
- Inner joint left handside front (?) Something to do with the steering I think, talked to the local ex MG dealer in Bergen, and they say you have to change the whole unit, Could this be a good time to change to a TF steering rack?

How much work is that? Stephan, you did that did you not?:)

- inner bush something rear right. I think it's this one:

Help please. :)

from the picture the arrowed part is a wishbone bush, in the uk we normally just change the entire wishbone as if one bush has failed the others aren't usually far behind.

the left hand front bit could be an inner cv joint, i don't know if you can get these separately or if you have to replace the entire driveshaft

Mehh, bad news Morten. As per pm, will try to develop some ideas. I have some options in mind .... I'd suggest to fit new track rod ends as well (ebay UK)

The second part could be the rear track rod (pt. 21):

Thank you Stephan, as always. :) Both track rod ends are only 6 months old, I'm sure they can be reused? No doubt that the tracking have to be done after all this.

Yep, first pic. is the rear track control arm. I had to replace the o/s one on mine for the same reason.
The inner bush is one of those silly 'rose joint' things. I managed to get a second hand one off ebay.

As for the steering rack, it is technically possible to get a new arm fitted to the rack, as I had it done on my Nissan rack. (That was after Nissan told me I had to have a new rack - ÂŁ750), but it was a specialist firm that did it.
Whether you have anybody in Norway that can do it?

Thanks mate. :) Spoke with my mechanic friend, he could not believe that you have to change the entire steering rack.. He said that in most cars, you could just change the bit you need.. :( Herbie/Stephan is on the case, hoping for some positive feedback from germany/Belgium. :)

Morten, I forgot to add another supplier. Ask Astrid Damen from Damen & Kroes in the Netherlands. They have an astonishing amount of spare parts on stock, why not the steering rack either. I'd suggest to ask for an F and TF rack jsut to avoid a second mail :D

Thanks mate, they did not have any in stock I'm afraid. :( Very quick reply btw. only a few minutes. :) The search goes on.

Yes, I could fit a F rack back on, but it seems like a good time to upgrade.. :) The darkside is strong. ;) Anyway, have sent B&G an email asking for a qoute, could not find the email adress on the Moss site? Is it just me? :(

I'm also considering asking James, the ebay guy I bought the AP's from for a qoute on the rear track rod. Could save some money there. I've heard some of the TF ones are not adjustable?

Again, the search goes on.. :)
