Just thought I'd mention I took Nick up on his kind offer of his Elvington DVD and received it today.

Really I'm very impressed it's really good, great pictures of the cars and aircraft together with a very suitable soundtrack.

I'd like to thank Nick for producing this and offering copies to all who were there. He's also a gentleman and a very nice guy to chat to.

Thank you for those kind words Jimbo. I have not used YouTube before and was unsure about copyright on a music track used on video upload, I still am but have uploaded it anyway!
Unfortunatly the images take a bit of a bashing on YouTube and so quality goes out of the window, however its at

Nice one Nick - here it is for all to see - the updated one's even better!

What software was used to create the video? I use Pro Show Producer but on occasions it asks viewers to download a Java script which understandably some don't want to do even though it's harmless.

Also Jimbo how do you link them back to here.

I have heaps of these things which may or may not be of interest to members.

There are lots of editing softeware available Edd, some do the transitions automatically and to a music track you decide on using.

Me I prefer to use PInnacle Studio 14 at the moment whcih I can do a lot with, but I don't know it inside and out and don't ge the time to play and practise on it tbh.

You can uploaad your montages and videos to youtube then isert the

I have my own servers so I don't use UTube. Besides I don't like the adverts it puts on. Pro Show Producer is a professional DVD Movie maker. I'll try and link one I made earlier to here and see what happens.

Edd
Edd, Simon's answered most of what you were asking - as for how Nick produced his video he'd have to answer that.

Myself I don't have anything other than the bog standard windows media which I used to make this:-

plus recently I bought myself a HD video camera, still getting used to it - miles better than using the video function on a normal digital camera.

Cheers

Photo DVD Slideshow Pro is the one I have used over the last few years; it’s a vast improvement over the earlier versions though even the latest version 8.09 has limitations that prevent a really finished job. For a short slideshow with a suitable longish audio it is relatively easy. It of course becomes a little more complex for say a 15 or twenty minute show, where I would use Audacity (free and compatible with even 64bit win7) to cut, fade or truncate as they say, the music tracks that I think will fit
with the subject matter, and thats the buzz that I get out of it, sometimes trawling through audio tracks for hours to find the ones I think that `fit`, and when it comes together, as it mostly does, it is so worth the effort !:cloud9: For the best retention of image quality then TV via a DVD player is the best, after all thats what the software is designed for.

I'd just like to add my thanks to Nick. Brilliant DVD, excellent souvenir of the day in Elvington! See you in Cosford we hope!
Toodles :)
Making the movies is the easy bit. I can't figure out how you link them back to here without using YouTube? What code are you using?

I've tried

Have you tried wrapping your code for the video on your server in [v ideo] and [/v ideo] tags Edd, but as I don't know how your run your own server or waht you use etc difficult to say if it will work.

Otherwise can you just insert a link to your videos??

Simon

Yes I have done that in the past but I like they way the vids above are embedded in the post. Makes life a lot easier.

I've tried [video] but that didn't work either. I'm usually pretty good at coding, I spent a lot of time doing C + + and other software years ago in collage; most of which I have now forgotten.

I think some forum software has a list of codes that can be used, I'll have to go on a search?

Edd
Edd this any good - sorry but it's all a bit above me

That is excellent. I love messing about with code and eventually getting it to work. I can see me playing with this for a while... How sad is that :O

Jim
just watched the DVD (been too busy till now) and its very well edited - just one point , can someone tell the fella with the Zs his bonnets open ;)
Cheers for the updated YouTube video Nick - got your pm this am and edited my post using my phone but couldn't see if it had worked - just checked and all is as it should be.

May I say it's even better than the original and a very good "picture" of the day.

Once again thanks for producing this.
