Hi Guys, just joined the forum having bought a 620i SD. On an R plate with 130,000 on the clock and it drives OK. Couple of irritating rattles but overall not too bad. One of the rattles is from the gear stick which is also floppy as hell. Does anyone know if the answer to this has been covered in the forum? I'm no mechanic but I'm prepared to give pretty much anything a go.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi JD,

It's been covered a fair bit to be honest, it seems to be the bain of every PG1 gearbox equipped car, my own ti still has the 'floppo-select' system in situ :D I keep meaning to do something about it!

Quite a few bods on here have flagged up some decent ideas of how to fix it, in particular, MGJohn.

Just a couple of thread for you to have a read through, quite interesting too!
