Hi everyone,

I am looking to put a new radio (sony) into our MGF, to replace the original MGF radio. Does anyone know if I need a wiring adapter, and if so, which one I need?

Am planning on getting one on the way home this evening, so that we can have the new radio installed for our drive tomorrow....so any help would be greatly apreciated.

Thanks,

Rob

I put a new sony in mine and from what I remember it plugged straight in, if it didnt then it had the harness with it, I am pretty sure it did though and I brought a basic sony from Argos so you should be ok.

I belive all MGFs have ISO connectors. These are an industry standard and so the new HU should be plug compatable.
Some high output HU's (Alpine units for example) do need a power wire connected directly to the battery (via a fuse) so its worth checking this too.

Rob...

The car will (should) have ISO connectors for the power, speakers etc... so that should plug straight in perfectly.

Its the aerial you will need an adapter for very probably - one of these:

Or, if you go into Halfords it will look a lot more like this:

It will only cost about £2-3 in Halfords...

The above is from experience - I have a Sony head unit in my 99 F...

Cheers
