Hi, i have just done a full service on my car today and was thinking of changing the HT leads. Does any one know how often they should be changed? The car is just over 6 years old now and has done 45k.

I have had no problems starting/misfiring but just thought a change might improve mpg/peformance.

What do you think?

Anything new never does any harm. Although personally I go on the "if it aint broke dont fix it" method.

6 years? I change them. The insualtion has probably started to break down by now.
My original Rover leads that were 6 years old were arcing. Start the engine in the dark and look around the leads in the engine bay. You'll probably see arcing.
