Well, all 3 of the buggers to be precise - I guess they were all shiney & silver when fresh out the factory, but the last 6 years of playing with them and they're all a bit 'faded'. i was thinking of painting them again but not sure on the outcome.

Any tips on how to get them as good as new or should i replace?

i was hoping to keep mine as origional as possible - looking on fleabay they go for nearly ÂŁ20 each !!!

I can live with a slight bit of silver paint fading until the damn thing snaps off in my hand (which it did on one TF i went to see before i bought this one) - ooh the stories i can tell from our search for this car!

but thats another thread....

Our Gear knob this time - I didn't end up buying a MOMO one...went for a bargain standard ball type one instead.
Just went to try it in place of our MOMO one and the ball type one just slips straight over the thread. :(

It seems like the nylon sleeve that's in the MOMO one has been stripped out of the silver ball type or are they different diameters?

I'm initially thinking of PTFE tape & glue..but has anyone got other tips to make it fit?

I ended up getting some shiny heater knobs from Mike Satur.

But my problem now is that the standard ball type gear knob is too big for my shaft...(plus it needs a good polish).

I know it's hard but please try to keep from giggling like school kids...it's been a while since we had a good 'knobbage thread'

:D

I painted the knobs in my 25 from Silver to Stone Grey. ;)

Very simple to do, I just keyed them with some wet and dry paper, dried them, degreased them, light coats of primer and painted them, clear coat added for extra sheen. ;)
