yeah i did turn them on with each test still nothing, i only want them to come on with sidelights/hl.

I actualy took the switch out the circuit to rule that out as a fault for now

right then take your stereo out and there 'should' be a blue wire this is your remote wire connect the live feed to this and turn your stereo on, it should make the lights work if it doesnt give me a while to think of a new plan

aint budging but i can see a blue wire from behind the console going to the radio its with a bunch of others connected with a multi plug that the one ?

Forget all the remote wiring business. Just do it off the back off the cigarette lighter. That is a permanent 12v feed using your switch to turn it on and off when you want.

OR

Wire it in the interior light as Charlzy has suggested previous. Where you have the switch mounted, look to the top right of the fuse box. There will be a connector block either loose or taped to the car. If not, you will just have the interior wiring loom passing through. Block or no block, select the purple wire and the black one for your neons.

OR

Find the +/- wires of anything that lights up when your sideligts come on e.g dash clocks etc and you can get power that way

OR

A combination of all but just attached to a rocker switch to select the different circuit

Ok thanks the radio wire didnt work either since im freezing lol and its dark ( i wanted to see how bright they would be :( ) ill call it a night and start again in the morning ill try wiring it up to the cig lighter.

Thanks for all the help anyway :)

have you tried switching polarity on the LED strips? simple, but often overlooked.

i might look for a 3-way switch when i fit mine :timer: eventually.

so i can have it same as interior light; on, sensor, off.
i'd prefer to be able to use rover switches, but i don't think there was ever a 3 stage push switch.

**edit** anyone know how the headlamp adjuster works? is it varying current or as separate contacts?

Yeah tried that i know it works cause they run when i touch them to the battery + and -

Going to wire them to the cig lighter now :) wish me luck lol

Still no luck :(. is the purple and green live for the cig lighter ? or the black one the haynes manual has different colour wires to mine

i used a cable connector , the cig lighter stilll works fine so does everything else i tried to tap into for power. maybe the connectors are not working properly.

Edit **Never mind im giving up no matter what i do its not working

Cable connectors or scotch blocks arent the best things to use. Sometimes when the cable insulation is too thick, the blades dont cut it deep enough to make a connection. This would be worth checking. If its not been cut properly, use a knife to cut away some of the wrapping and the put it back into the connector block.

Yeah i checked when i removed them there was bare cable which i taped up. Dont worry about it ill find a new mod to work on and maybe come back to it when i know more.

Thanks to everyone who tried to help anyway :)
