Always wondered this and check googled a couple different times.

The ZRs were easy, they were abbreviated by power. 105 160 etc. However you used to have the old Rover GTis. GSIs. You cars like the nissan primera that was an Si and also an SRi model. Ive seen some cars have LS at the end.

Do any of these stand for anything?

GTi?
GSi?
SRi?

all i think is the i stands for injection. Can anybody fill in the blanks of the above. Or if you have some others you can think of put them here to see if someone can tell us what they mean.
