Just to update: Kiley Clinton Birmingham appear to be able to sort the cracked block on the existing rack in short order. They've been exceptionally patient and helpful. We may make the tour after all.
Mk1 825i Power steering rack woe

Just joined the forum; hello all.
I'm the proud owner of an Mk1 825i with 29k on the clock.
It drives like new. Intending to embark on a European tour next week, I put the car into the mechanic for a final once-over. Only to find the rack is cracked and leaking. Rebuild is therefore not possible.
If I can get hold of a replacement rack in the next few days, it can be fitted in time to make the holiday.
If anyone has any idea where I might source one (I'm having difficulty even confirming the part number/OEM code) your support will be invaluable and greatly appreciated.
