Just got a quote for some work that needs doing on my ZS...

2 x CV joints
Front Discs
Front Pads

£555 all in.

That's alot of money. Are they fitting uprated gear for that, even so...........I'd do that myself.

Seams a bit of an odd figure £555 do ytou have a break down of that - ie parts and labour ? if so are they robbing you for parts labour or both ?

Breaks are easy ,dunno about CV joint never done one on a ZS but easy enough on a ford escort

I think the CV's were about £250 for the pair?

it is a lot of money.

I rang another garage for another quote, but they have not back to me yet.

You don't say if it was a main dealer or OE parts.

Outer CV joints are about £120 each for OE and about £45 from a motorfactors.

Similar price difference with disks, pads etc.

Reluctor rings most probably rather that CV's themselves. Don't come seperately though.

We just had pretty much the same thing mate... Reluctor rings were gone, so 2 new CV joints. Plus, the OSF front caliper had seized so it was a reconditioned one as replacement... and new discs/pads as the seized caliper at warped the disc.

51 plate also... painful. And I don't think you can get 3rd party CV Joints for a 180 (think they differ from the 120).. so it was full price. Took the opportunity to upgrade the discs to drilled/grooved tho'
