MG ZS 2002 Burning Out Coil Pack

Got an MG ZS 1.8 2002 and its burning out the left hand coil pack. Garage with diagnostics said suspect ECU with a dead short. Replaced the ECU along with the alarm ECU and it still does the same thing.

Vehicle fires on two cyclinders misses terribly LH coil pack gets red hot, burns out and blows the 20Amp supply fuse.

Any ideas on what the problem could be as I can't believe that I've got another duff ECU.

wiring fault-trace the wires back to your ECU and run 2 new wires direct to the coil,the wiring to the coil may have shorted to another circuit in the loom

It was a short circuit on the White/Orange wire leadng form the coil pack. Bypassed this wire into the ECU and everything seems to work fine.

Still needed the new ECU though as it wont start with the old one.
