mg zs 180 clutch problem

I was looking at a post by garbo from a fews years ago, describing exactly the same problem I have. when I drive my car for 10 mins It becomes near on impossible to change gear. garbo said it was the master cylinder bracket, that was changed and everything was fine. does anyone know how much this costs and the best garage to take it to I live in Cannock.

Much more likely to be the slave cylinder bracket than the master. Simple job, buy a freelander one off ebay for a tenner and your laughing

Slave bracket is the place to start, then failing that slave cylinder and finally master cylinder.

thanks to both of you, would a freelander one sort it pomski? and what year would I need? my 180 is a 51 plate

The freelander item is the same but cheaper.

The clutch hydrualics were the same for all years.

You should get some one to press on clutch peddle and have a look for play
before buying I found out mine was the bracket that holds the master cylinder where iu fill it as mine had snapped but was a ***** to change as really tight
