R8 air controls installed, next misión... lower the air conditioning button where they take the R8 and put the unlocking of doors where the AC now takes, at least now I do not have hanging the door unlocking button and it is more or less "hidden"

New modifications on the way directly from the UK.

Although for now they will be stored in a drawer along with sdi injectors.

I would still have to make the escape line and the installation of an FMIC. Although I do not rule out installing it with just one downpipe at the moment ...

But ... The 180cv are a little closer.

Yesterday we made 1300km together ... Practically non-stop and the zr behaved like a champion, a photographer in the shade at a stop along the way.

The trip was partly to find this: mouth of brm and stabilizer rear 18mm brm

Interesting, not sure if the roundness of the BRM grille will suit the Mk2 straight Lines but it will be interesting to see.
In the mk2 would have to adapt the lower part of the bumper to integrate, if finally put it to the possibly add the lip of mk1 to the front, but I also have a mk1 at home ... I do not know what will still.

I did a little test to see how it was.

I would get some standard plastic sink waste pipe and cut out a quarter of it lenghtways and then angle cuts each end to fit on the lower grille edges and add central fins, I tried this on mine but went a different round but I got a good basis bult but I sold it on to one of the guys who went to our local meet.

More improvements ...

Tinted windshields installed.

I have also updated the sound system with the JBL speakers that buy time back, I still have to adapt the JBL twitter for the OEM adapter of the car (these are a bit larger and have to trim a plastic flange to fit them). And I also leave pending to install the JBL grilles, for now it is left with the OEM covers of the doors.

In order not to cut the original wiring and keep the original connectors, I made some homemade adapters for the speakers >:).

I am hesitant to put it two 6:9 in the rear tray, the tray that the car brought when I bought it was already cut, although then I removed it and put a mine without holes, so who knows if in the future they will drop some ...

Since I don't usually go around things too much once I think about it ... 6x9 speakers for the rear tray 8)

With this I conclude the audio theme of Zr

I update this a bit ... I have it a bit abandoned. After the disappointment with the avo coilovers, the shock absorbers that the gtz kits bring are definitely crap ..., I have mounted some apex springs that I bought a long time ago, practically the car has stayed with the same height and much firmer with the irregularities of the asphalt, obviously drawing curves is not the same as with the coilovers and leans a little more, but I am definitely much happier now.

I have also bought a complete set of yellow hard-adjustable koni.

I would have liked to have got 2 sets, for both zr, but as I could only get one I will reserve it for the mk1, Because he will be the one who really has a good set-up, with sdi injectors, bigturbo, fmic, etc. (More interesting proyect)

So the mk2 for now will be left with the series dampers and their apex.

Some time ago the car began to bend the brake discs, it was felt that the problem came from the wheel hubs and they were replaced by others to try to see if it was solved. The problem seemed healthy.

Then with so much change of shock absorber and springs and others ... There came a point that the car ate some front wheels at 8000km ...

Choose to renew the entire front suspension, lower arms, joint-ball-outer tracks rods, joint-ball-assembly-inner, anti roll bar link, silentblocks, front damper mountings, ... But gentlemen this is an MGR, you try to solve a problem and another appears ... When dismantling the steering appeared a slack in the rack, I was going to assume 1 day of stop just in a week. Luckily, I had my exzr's steering rack at home.

So the entire front suspension and steering has been renewed and led to a good alignment.

By the way, take advantage of mounting the apex springs on the zr's own shock absorbers (after passing through the paint shop, to leave them well black, itv mode, hopefully it will strain and do not touch riding and dismounting) so that they are not loose when lifting the car as with the sachs of 25, I put them to test and they are going really well, but it is necessary to modify them to be able to hold the dock in all situations when they are put in a MG.

Improvised painting workshop 8):

To be one of the first things I paint, they were not bad at all :)

Great choice on speakers, big fan of JBL myself, used lots over the years, I still have this set up in my 25.
For now I am really satisfied with the sound quality that I have achieved and the cost of doing so

Nor do I plan to put any more speakers, which I have now assembled seems more than enough to listen to music while enjoying the car.

English car, English reprogramming.

I will rely on the CJLtuning guys for car electronics.

With the usual settings: sdi injectors, decat, EGR canceled...

And as an extra: turbo outlet pipe by darkicedesign and digimafam by darkicedesign that I have already installed.

I am looking forward to the ECU to be around 160cv.:love:

While the CJLtuning ECU arrives, more little things arrive to accompany it, a set of sdi injectors and a K&N replacement filter.

Status update:

15 days ago I started to install the mods and ECU of CJL Tuning, but not to vary several problems have arisen along the way ...

After installing all the mods to the car and going out to test it on the road, the car was anchored in the maffless mode ("ECO" mode of reprogramming) and there was no way to switch to the "POWER" mode. After much spinning and testing, the ECU was sent back to the UK for a review, to go looking for solutions.

Although I think the problem came to me on the other hand.

At home I have 2 sets of SDI injectors, one of the games came out of a rover engine without IC that was in a scrapping and it turns out that the pilot injector did not send the signal correctly to the car and was in protected mode. Recently I bought another game that came out of a 400sdi and when I put them in the car it was even worse than with the originals ... In the end all problems with them ... So after 15 days spinning my head I decided to disassemble the 2 pilots of sdi that had and take advantage of the "good" parts of both to make a unique pilot, the resistance of those who did not put fuel and the nozzles of those that worked well in terms of fuel.

Apparently I hit the key and now the car works as I think it should, without errors in the ECU and with a higher performance than the series, waiting for them to resend the ecu again, which will be the litmus test .

Since I installed the decat and the K&H filter, in the absence of putting the plates back in the egr when I have the ECU with it canceled.

Impressions after a few kilometers with the modifications and with the ECU of origin ... I have gained enough torque but not far from the 30cv that was said to be earned with these mods and without reprogramming, hopefully there may be won between 5 and 10, the car goes and runs more, but not as with 30hp extras ...

After a series of problems with the maf wiring, the connector has been repaired to work while a new one arrives, which made a bad contact and the reprogrammed ecu did not change mode, it always stayed in the eco mode (mafless), I've been circulating with him for 15 days.

Although I think that the old turbo, after a month that it was increased in pressure it will not last too long, so it is very likely that if I have to change it, it will happen directly to the 1752.

Scrapping day ...

Trip to "La Torre" for scrap for future projects, both for this and the other zr.

Intercooler to replace this one, which has some tap and seems to lose a little.

Another streetwise console for when I get with the adaptation of the armrest of 220, which transverse consoles of mk2 I have several but of these only I have 1 and always have to keep 1 without modifying 8)

And a couple of sets of 200bar injectors, which never hurts to have replacements, and I will need others apart for the mk1.
