Hey guys I have a 2.0 Diesel ZR.
Upon start up the throttle is lazy and hesitant. For example : foot flat to the floor and the revs increase but at a very slow rate. And the car won’t rev as it should… very sluggish and unresponsive.

But if I keep my foot planted to the floor the revs eventually creep up and the car revs up fast. After this the car is then 100% responsive after giving it a blast

Would this be the sign of a tired MAF sensor ?
Thanks guys :)

I don't recall this being a typical tired MAF symptom, but it could be. Try unplugging the MAF. If it then behaves fairly normally but won't rev much past about 3500rpm (I think, it's so long since had cause to think about this) then the MAF has a problem. On a late (2004 on OBD2 compatible) car this may light up a MIL, but this should correct itself when the MAF is correctly connected. You're OK to use the car with the MAF disconnected for a while (some might say permanently)
