I have a figure in my head of approx. 100 Kg for the engine, then I would guess about another 20 Kg for the gearbox.

Naturally, the more ancillaries that you remove the smaller and lighter it all becomes.

Thanks for that, I'm just wondering if I can man handle the engine onto my bench , haven't got the car yet (havent got the house yet , just in the process of moving) Cheers Bill

Yeah, If I remember right, the block fully dressed is around 118 kg and the box is about 35 kg. I have to say I couldn't lift it without an engine crane and leveller. But maybe I'm just past my best these days.:rolleyes:
Thanks for that matey, yeh might need the engine lift, can pick up a 1000cc motorcycle engine and gearbox , this would be about a 15 stone man, and aint getting any younger myself:)
