Interesting. The last month of 22 reg should be a low reg month but there is a huge backlog of unfulfilled orders, note the posts if MG announces a new model - "but what about actually delivering mine?"
MG4 looks like a sure-fire winner with what I can only call mind-bogglingly glowing reports from the likes of Auto Express and Top Gear which had slated MG6. The low price and (now expected) good availability of MG are suddenly plus points.
MG Motor UK has promised that all open orders will be fulfilled this year and that new orders for ZS EV wlll take 30 weeks, with MG3 and HS petrol 12 weeks and all others 16 weeks. No promise for MG4 yet but the first customers might drive away in their own 4s as soon as September! Apparently, the boat has come in.
Further developments include NIO, BYD and Hongqi announcing they will sell cars in the UK
this year, and still expecting GWM Ora - these brands using what distribution method? - with the energy crisis and low water levels in German rivers like Rhine and Danube sure to affect German production. The top of our charts is Kia, Ford and four German brands, this could change.
Two years ago MG was battling Suzuki and Dacia. One year ago it was Citroën and Renault. We would expect MG to have powered past these now - but can MG beat Peugeot this month? I am now looking at the Top 12!
