This thread is to discuss, and make guesses about, MG monthly registrations in the UK which are generally on the up - but how much?

I'm not the only fan of MGs who's not here as often as they used to be and I don't think we have the quorum any more to run a separate thread for each month, but if we have a thread with no month in the title, then anyone can start the ball rolling for subsequent months and update the summary of who has guessed what in their own post.

MG is up 59% but not the strongest climber, which was Volvo.

I note that Mitsubishi's total sales were only 61% higher than MG's (not the three or four times higher they have been!)

Actually I think January is one of the higher months as a 1 Jan car appears a year newer than a 31 Dec one. I think February before the reg change with only 28 days may be lowest.

Well, so now it's time to make the last guess for the 68 plate. I think February is maybe the quietest month. There again, last year, availability of pre-facelift 3 was already tailing off, and this year there are several new dealers making good sales.

Feb 2018: 186 registrations.
Jan 2019: 754 registrations

February Guess

Chinese MGs appear to be selling locally and possibly even in "quiet" months.

My guess based on nothing in particular :~.

It is indeed likely to be the quietest month of the year - who would see an unregistered car in a showroom today and not wait seven days for registration and handover unless the price was right lol - but I am the most pessimistic of our select little band by far and I've gone for an 86% rise!

EDIT The price was right for the Hutchisons of Edinburgh today...

If I read the figures correctly Feb 2019 sales are 448. Well done GOMRL with a guess of 444. I got my nearest ever with 456. Mg will be fairly happy I think. Lets see what March brings forth.

From the increased activity on FB of new cars being picked up in the last few days I think March will be a record, and March figures will include me as I will be a proud owner of a Black ZS Auto Exclusive this weekend!!! Can't wait!!!

Just two dealers in the North East (out of over 80) expect to register around 80 cars this month - just ZSs on orders to date!
