To all you computer buffs out there - you must go for the MP3 enabled CD Tuner! It is a £250 (I think!) upgrade, but IMHO, it is a godsend. Imagine being able to burn up to 253 MP3 tracks from your PC to disc (even CD-RW media) and have hours of your favourite tracks on one disc. You can have the MP3 file tag displayed on the display - you an even re-name the ID3 tags with a suitable PC program (Available as a free download)The functions of the MP6090 Kenwood unit are impressive - although I would prefer a little more bass response - I guess that is down to the 'voice' of the system (Speakers!) I think a small subwoofer in the boot would finish off the system nicely. BTW, anyone heard the (optional) Harmon-Kardon system in the Rover 75? Custom fit subwoofer in the boot, upgraded speakers, amplifiers etc - sounds great!
Tech Tip - anybody fitting one of these units themselves - be careful! They have a large accumulation of spaghetti (wiring and RCA pre-outs etc) at the rear of the units - on ZS models this can be very tricky to fit in order to get the radio unit to fit properly. There is a procedure but it is not an easy task. Leave it to the dealer!:D

Yes - you can get this unit to fit the 75. You will need an adaptor plate for the facia to allow fitment of a DIN sized unit. This facia panel is available from MG Rover as a part. I will try to see how much it is next week as I think many 75 owners will want to upgrade their ICE.

Don't whatever you do try and couple up an Alpine Autochanger to the Kenwood head unit even if they appear to use the same DIN plugs.I'm fairly certain that it would end up with lots of smoke coming from both units! If you really want an autochanger to go with your Kenwood head unit, these 6 disc changers are available from car hi-fi shops at around £175ish - not expensive.

Yep, I have that exact system in my ZT... It really does sound great, especially when you turn it up a bit... ;-)

Harmon Kardon ICE

Yes we have sold a few 75's with the Harmon Kardon system. The sound quality is far superior to the poor standard system. All speakers are H/K upgrades, the tweeters in the front doors have the H/K logo (very cool) and the subwoofer has a H/K port situated in the centre of the rear parcel shelf.I'm not altogether sure if this upgrade is avilable in the ZT - it certainally should be. I will investigate and report back.

on that subject....all my previous car I've fitted an amp and additional speakers ,leaving the originals in the doors etc.
What I want to know is has any replace the original OE speakers with performance/decent ones and gave great results ? I had a 200W amp and 200W speakers last time and they were great, the OE's are 5" or 6" but I'm wary that buying any speaker that small will give good bass....
Any help appreciated.....
