Mail on Sunday today has a review of the MG GT - which is very very positive...includes comments of how well designed and production ready it is and how much calling there is for it in hot countries......also mentions Peter Stevens has a new interior for the TF as soon as the Board give him the go-ahead.

I'll see if I can find the article online

A new interior for the TF? About time too! hehe I was really hoping there was more to the 2005 "New TF" than just a glass rear screen.

As long as they sort out the things which make it less popular - ie. seat-height etc., then it should re-inject the TF with another burst of life to see it through 'til the end of its existance.

I recently visited one of those huge car supermarkets and made a point of taking a look around an MGTF, Toyota MR2 and a Mazda MX5.

I agree that the TF interior looks a bit dated/flimsy in places, however its really not that bad when you compare it with the Mazda and the Toyota. The MR2 dashboard is really quite nasty/ugly when you get up close.

The TF really is quite an attractive car.......

I'm a bit confused about this criticism of the TF's driving postion.
As far as I remember, the journalists comments were that the seats were too high, meaning that tall people struggled to keep the tops of their heads below the top line of the windscreen.

Not noticed it myself, but I do recall it was a criticism that it wasn't resolved in the launch of the TF.

Back on topic - great news that the TFGT has been received well, can't wait to start seeing them on the roads :D

That's why Brown and Gammons do seat lowering kits.

Mind you, every modern Rover I have driven has seats set too high. On our 400 and 800 they are still too high for me (6' exactly) even when adjusted to the lowest possible level.

I'm the other way. Having got used to this, every other car feels wrong!

The 75 seats are definitely not high, they feel quite low to sit in.

The 75/ZT have the best seating position of all MGR's current offerings. The 45/ZS is next best. The 25/ZR is too high and the pedals are offset, the MG TF is also too high. Apparently, MGR couldn't officially lower the TF seats without going through new crash testing procedures, which were very expensive. Clarkson did mention MGR said they would fit lower seats at no cost as an aftermarket mod, but unsuprisingly, this never happened.

I had a massive problem trying to get used to the seat hight in my brava after driving a 200 mk2 for 4 years. that felt normal for me.
went into the brava, found the hight a little too low, went for the hight ajuster and it was at its highest position! that really threw me off. And to set it to its lowest position was, well it felt as low as the time I saw in the SV
