Hi guys,

I've searched the forums and not really found an answer but:
Theres a stamped plate on the pillar by the drivers door with the MG Comission number.

What does this number represent.
My model is a 2002 MG ZR 160. The comission number is 618.
Does this mean mine is the 618th ZR 160 to be built, the 618th ZR to be built or is it the number of the plans used to build the car? Or perhaps the track number.

Any clues?

Cheers in advance as this will be doing me nut in.

MG Comission numbers

Mine is a 2001 and is 5800 something. I think MG R were trying to be clever and mimic the MGs of old as most old BMC/BL cars had a pretty little 'comission' number tag mounted somewhere which basically said which body number it was (which wasn't the chassis number - that was somewhere else!) It's quite a nice touch I think

Sounds like it stood in a field somewhere for a year or two before being sold!
(Only joking!)

hehe don't be silly Ron!

It would at least have been Tarmaced :p
It is a distinct possibility too.

Thanks for all the answers chaps and chapesses.
I believe it is the 618th ZR to roll off production, sounds most likely.

Does anybody out there have ZS/ZT/TF/F 618?
